What's new in Version 1.4.3
NOTE: If you still use iOS 3, please read this:
http://penguinlovesmusic.de/2011/10/19/say-goodbye-to-ios-3/
1.4.3: Bugfixes:
• Playback should no longer be interrupted in iOS 5 when the code lock engages.
• Sync buttons on the MultiPlayer screen accessible again under iOS 3.
Previous Releases:
iPeng 1.4.2 brings compatibility with iOS5 and Logitech media Server 7.7.
It also features some performance improvements and some bug fixes.
iPeng 1.4.1 fixes some bugs and adds some minor improvements. Plus it adds some smaller features:
Bug fixes:
• “Reconnect Bug”. iPeng should no longer stall for 60s under certain conditions while trying to reconnect to the server when coming back from the background.
• The “Volume HUD” should no longer appear when iPeng is entered or left unless you use playback.
• The volume should no longer automatically change when entering iPeng
• iPeng should no longer stay active in the background for up to 10min when there is no data loading to be completed.
New Features:
• In iPeng’s browser you can now paste the current track’s details into entry fields. This can be used to post links to the current track to e.g. Google+ or Internet Forums.
• You can “Power Off All” players by holding the main power control.
• You can play all Favorites as a playlist.
• If long text gets clipped in tables (e.g. for Biographies) you can tap the text to get an extra view for the complete content.
• Twitter timeline now also shows retweets.
New in 1.4:
iPeng 1.4 completes the sharing and web capabilities that were gradually introduced since iPeng 1.3.4.
It is now even better in playing music on your Squeezebox that is linked to or embedded in web sites such as music blogs or some streaming services and allows you to manage these sites.
• Bookmark web sites in iPeng’s built-in browser
• Make your own “Web Apps” inside iPeng from your Bookmarks
• Play music from sites like SoundCloud, The Hype Machine or Aupeo! on your Squeezebox.(*)
• Even more link formats can be played from services like Spotify
• Comes with a number of pre-configured sites that have been tested to work.
(*) Note: Even though iPeng now has support for sites like SoundCloud or Aupeo! this is not the same thing as native support on the Squeezebox. You can play songs from these sources but depending on the service and the individual tracks it may not be possible to e.g. build whole playlists or save favorites because links often will expire after a short time!
